NWO‑NERA Energy Symposium 2026
Friday, July 03, 2026
On behalf of NWO and the Netherlands Energy Research Alliance (NERA), we are pleased to announce the fourth edition of the NWO‑NERA Energy Symposium, which will take place on Friday 3 July 2026. Registration will open in April.
This year’s theme is ‘Energy Futures: Technology and Society in Transition’. The energy transition is not only a technological challenge but also a societal transformation. How can we design energy futures in which technological development and societal expectations move forward together?
We are delighted to announce that the keynote speaker will be Prof. Nicholas Pidgeon (Cardiff University), an internationally leading expert on public perceptions, risk, trust, and the societal acceptance of energy technologies and infrastructures.
Why should you be there?
The NWO‑NERA Energy Symposium is a one‑day event where researchers, policymakers and professionals explore the latest developments in energy technology and their implications for society.
The symposium offers a platform for scientists from diverse disciplines to share insights with an interdisciplinary audience, stimulating exchange across the energy research landscape. It is also an excellent opportunity to broaden your professional network within the Dutch energy community.
