The EnergyHelpdesk is the place where scientists provide answers to energy-related questions from society. The Energy Helpdesk is a collaboration between NERA and the KlimaatHelpdesk.

Many people are looking for reliable and easy-to-understand information about the energy transition. For example, what are the consequences for my energy bill, and how can energy shortages be resolved? However, finding such information on the internet is not that easy. How do you know that what you are reading is scientifically correct? In a tangle of clickbait and misinformation, it is sometimes difficult to see what is true and who is speaking.

The Energy Helpdesk was established to help with this. We connect energy questions from everyone in the Netherlands to the right experts and, in doing so, share scientific information about energy with the general public in an understandable way. Through this, we hope to initiate a dialogue between scientists and citizens. Climate change can be complex, and many disciplines are involved. That is why we have a network of active experts (currently more than 350) in all fields – from physics, economics, biology, and geography to history, law, and psychology. This allows us to answer questions from different perspectives.
